Step 4: Locate the K1 element



The K1 element is located in the top-right corner of the main board.  The melted join is on the back side of this element.

    Note that some boards (mine - ProLogic, dated from 2008) identifies this relay on the board as K6 (in same location). Same failure though. On my board, K1 is a smaller relay towards the middle of the board (and not the source of the problem)

    THANK YOU! for the original post.
    Here is one thing you should do before removing the board, check the 20A fuse by K. In my case that was it, replaced it and problem solved.
